Terms of Service

Plain-English contract for using Storeshift.

Last updated 2026-05-03

We're a small operation, not a corporate legal team. This document is in plain English. If anything's unclear, email hello@storeshift.app and we'll explain or revise.

1. What Storeshift does

Storeshift converts your eBay storefront into a Shopify-importable CSV. You give us your eBay store URL; we scrape the public listing data, run AI rewrites on titles + descriptions, remove image backgrounds, and emit a CSV plus product images you drop into Shopify.

We are not affiliated with eBay, Shopify, TikTok, Stripe, Anthropic, Cloudflare, or any other vendor we integrate with. Their terms apply to your use of those services independently of ours.

2. Your account

You sign in with a verified email via magic link (Supabase). You're responsible for keeping access to that email address. If you lose it, we can't recover your past runs — they're tied to the account.

You can delete your account at any time from your dashboard. We delete your runs + uploaded catalogs immediately. Some records (Stripe payment history) persist for accounting purposes — see the Privacy Policy.

3. Pricing

$19 base for runs up to 200 listings. $0.10 per listing above that, capped at $599 for runs of roughly 5,800 listings or more. Previews (5 sample products) are free. The exact amount is shown before you authorize payment.

3.1 Authorization vs charge

We use Stripe's auth-then-capture flow. When you click through Stripe Checkout, your card is authorized for the projected amount, not charged. We only capture the charge after the run completes successfully and your CSV is ready. Failed runs void the authorization without ever charging your card.

3.2 Refunds

We issue refunds at our discretion for runs that failed, produced unusable output, or weren't what you expected. Email us within 30 days of the charge. Refunds are processed through Stripe and credit your card in 5–10 business days.

4. What you're responsible for

  • The eBay store you submit must be one you own or have explicit permission to convert. We don't verify this; you confirm by submitting the URL.
  • The output CSV may contain content that's flagged for TikTok Shop policy violations. Our review page surfaces these flags; you decide whether to keep, edit, or remove each one. Anything you upload to Shopify (and onward to TikTok Shop or other channels) is your responsibility.
  • You're responsible for complying with eBay's terms of use, Shopify's terms of service, and TikTok Shop's content policies. We surface AI-generated warnings; we don't enforce them.

5. What we're responsible for

  • Best-effort uptime of the conversion pipeline. The public status page shows real-time health.
  • Refunds for runs that fail through no fault of yours (worker crashes, eBay blocks us, AI service down).
  • Keeping your data private. See the Privacy Policy for specifics.

5.1 No guarantee of platform acceptance

Storeshift's policy review optimizes listings for common policy triggers (watermarks, image standards, restricted claims, copyrighted IP, banned substances, misleading-superlative language) before you import to Shopify. The review is best-effort; it cannot guarantee approval by any third-party marketplace including TikTok Shop, Google Shopping, Meta, or Amazon. Final approval decisions, suspensions, and rejections are made by those marketplaces under their own policies, which we don't control and may change without notice. Refunds for marketplace rejections unrelated to our pipeline output (shipping policies, category restrictions, account-age requirements, seller history, etc.) are not covered under §3.2.

6. AI-generated content

Storeshift uses Anthropic's Claude to rewrite eBay titles and bodies in your chosen tone. AI output is not perfect:

  • Claude may mis-summarize a product's specs. Always spot-check before publishing.
  • Claude may produce policy-flagged language that the review pass catches. The review screen lets you fix or override.
  • The AI doesn't know your seller voice perfectly on the first try. The tone iteration flow (regenerate a preview with new tone, free up to 5 times per preview) is there to help.

We don't claim ownership of AI-generated text we produce for you. Once captured, the output is yours to use, edit, or republish.

7. Service availability

We may have unplanned downtime, deploy-related downtime (rare), or third-party-caused outages (eBay blocking us, AI service unavailable, payment provider issues). We don't guarantee continuous availability. The status page is the source of truth for current health.

8. Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms (running malicious URLs, attempting to spam our systems, etc). We'll refund any unused authorized payments before terminating; your account history can be preserved if you ask.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

Storeshift is provided "as is" without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We don't warrant that your converted catalog will sell, rank, or comply with any specific marketplace's evolving policies.

10. Limitation of liability

Our maximum liability for any claim related to your use of Storeshift is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. We're not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages — lost sales, missed listings deadlines, platform suspensions on third-party services, etc.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Material changes get an email to your account address with at least 14 days notice. Non-material changes (typo fixes, clarifying existing language) take effect on publication. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page is the canonical version date.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the jurisdiction where Storeshift is operated. Disputes are resolved through good-faith email correspondence first; if that fails, in the courts of that jurisdiction.
